59When Rosie O’Donnell started doing video blogs my mother decided I needed to do video blogs. While my mother does not control all of my actions (at forty-something) when she’s right, she’s right. And so I began to wonder what I could say on a video that needed to been seen and not just read as my blogs were on my website. What perspective could I give that perhaps others share and some don’t even understand? Well, all I had going for me was that I had lived forty-something years and I was a gay man. Hmmmm, that’s it! On the whole I don’t think everything is or should be gay but we’ve been watching the NFL Draft in my office lately and I defy anyone to watch this and not see how gay this thing is as they measure every inch of these guys in their tight spandex. They do everything but look at their teeth! It’s like a modern day gay slave auction!

Great and very apt analogy.
I think it's one of those "thin line" situations. I've always been a bit fascinated by the fact the jocks tend to be the most homophobic group, yet all the hazing tends to involve doing really gay stuff with (or to) each other.
